Ride Safety Information
At Waterworld we take everyone’s safety seriously. We encourage all of our visitors to read through the safety information below for each of our rides and familiarise themselves with height and health information for each ride.
General Pool Rules
Age restrictions
Children under the age of 11 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, this is normally 16 years and over.
No Diving Policy
Waterworld considers diving as a potential hazard and as such is a no diving facility.
No smoking
Waterworld operates a no smoking policy throughout the building.
No pushing, bombing, petting, ducking, acrobatics, running
Pushing, bombing, petting, ducking, acrobatics of any form are not allowed on park facilities.
No running
Due to the nature of the park and its attractions, children experience a high level of excitement. This invariably results in children running to get from feature to feature. Running is prohibited and all guests are encouraged to walk and to ensure that children in their responsibility/care refrain from doing so. All staff are encouraged to be pro-active in our efforts to prevent incidents occurring and to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff alike.
No Flippers/snorkels/face masks
Flippers/snorkels/face marks are not allowed on poolside as they can pose a health and safety risk to other guests.
Suitable swimwear
Please note that guests must wear appropriate swimwear whilst bathing. Outdoor clothing is strictly prohibited for bathers and we do not allow cut jeans or thongs at poolside. Modest religious swimwear, such as burkinis are allowed providing that it is swimwear material.
No glasses to be worn whilst using the rides
Waterworld will not allow glasses to be worm by anyone using the rides, due to health and safety reasons.
No Pushchairs
Push chairs or the equivalent are not allowed on poolside as these could cause an obstruction and may lead to causing an injury to others or obstruct areas in case of a fire evacuation. The wheels of a pushchair could also bring in harmful dirt and bacteria from the outside into the pool, which is a risk to the health and safety of guests. Push chairs or the equivalent, must remain under the stairs located near the changing rooms entrance and exit doors.
No outdoor footwear on poolside
Foot wear is not permitted on poolside and spectators/guests and staff that are not swimming are required to wear blue over shoes. Blue over shoes vending points are situated before you enter and leave the changing rooms.
Photography
Waterworld operates a no photography or photographic enabled equipment policy on poolside. Anyone found breaking the rules will be warned against the use of such equipment. Any subsequent warnings may result in being asked to leave the premises. (Some photography maybe allowed subject to the Managers approval e.g. Birthday Party’s or in the pursuit of management of H&S protocols).
Non-swimmers & bathers at risk
There are areas within the park that are not suited to non-swimmers. Signs are situated throughout the park prohibiting non-swimmers where it is deemed necessary. The signage helps to raise awareness of the varying depth levels.
Guests particularly at risk when using the rides, are people with back problems, heart conditions and pregnant women. All guests are provided with information on the risks involved. The space bowl is the only deep-water area and whilst this is indicated on signage, at both ends of the ride (Top of ride (start) and bottom (exit)), it is again reiterated to riders.
Disorderly behaviour
Behaviour is monitored throughout the park by lifeguards, supervisors and Park staff. Any guest behaving in a disorderly manner, disrupting or causing a hindrance to other guest’s enjoyment may be asked to leave the premises.
